UncommonGoods currently seeks a Facility Manager to oversee all aspects of maintenance and construction at our headquarters, which includes both corporate offices and our entire shipping and receiving operation. This position reports directly to the COO. We are located in the historic Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail/technology space construction, maintenance, operations, and be familiar with the challenges of working in a pre-WW2 building. This is a full-time opportunity.

Responsibilities:
Provide maintenance to ensure that all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems are in excellent working conditions at all times.
Lead and manage the on-going construction and expansion of our office and warehouse space.
Maintain cleanliness in the entire facility and remote locations (within the building and only for UncommonGoods) at all times.
Maintain accurate records of the condition and maintenance of all equipment and systems in the building.
Ensure compliance with all regulations, including OSHA/EPA, etc.
Waste management.
Work with Operations and Security to establish emergency planning.
Working with current service providers and establishing new service provider contracts as needed, under guidance from COO.
Painting, minor maintenance and repairs (ongoing plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
Order necessary supplies.
Ensure utilities are serviced properly.
Ensure mechanical equipment is in excellent working condition and serviced properly.
Prepare staff work schedules and schedule/supervise other seasonal staff (we grow the team during Q4).
Provide a safe work environment for all employees.
Train and supervise maintenance staff as needed.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
3-5 years maintenance experience required.
Knowledge of offsite fabrication
Previous management of build and demolition of interior work areas in an office setting
Experience in on-site installation of construction components (walls, interior structure, electrical and telephony infrastructure)
Excellent references from previous employers.
Previous work experience in a high-volume, large warehouse setting is required.
Able to create a maintenance plan for all types of work and maintenance needed.
Available full-time, including nights and weekends.
Ability to solve problems and function in a fast paced environment.
A driver's license valid in the state of New York required.
Operations experience a plus.
Supervisory experience preferred.
