Instructional Design group is a part of Product Development and Delivery Division at AMA. The Instructional Design group establishes the learning design philosophy and instructional design standards to meet customer's performance and development needs and leads the development of effective learning design solutions (including blended approaches) in proven and new strategies, assessments, activities and techniques. Instructional Design also researches and integrates innovative, cutting-edge learning technologies and methodologies in AMA curricula.

This position will report directly to the Director of Instructional Design, an individual in this position will work on projects and participate in the meetings with SVP of Product Development and Delivery Division, instructional designers, developers and portfolio managers.

Responsibilities
Assist in designing and developing training courses for Instructor-Led, Virtual Classrooms and self - paced eLearning environments.
Provide support in creating new and updating existing courses by creating and reviewing conceptual design , detailed design documents, course materials such as participant's guide, leader's guide, power point deck
Work with internal and contracted instructional designers and developer to provide feedback and instructional design direction on courses in development
Actively participate in designing and developing of the new, cutting --edge and innovative blended learning solutions that will integrate e-learning technologies, classroom seminars, mobile support and social learning approaches. Apply appropriate learning methods to design and develop learning environments at the application and above levels (e.g. gamification, learning-by-doing methods such as goal-based scenarios, problem-based learning, etc.) and models. Integrate opportunities for social learning and team collaboration into design of blended approaches.
Ensure appropriate evaluation and assessment methods and techniques are applied for each learning experience.

Qualifications:
Have excellent instructional design skills for designing and developing meaningful blended learning solutions using methods such as gamification, learning - by- doing approaches (e.g. goal-based scenarios, problem - based learning, etc.), social learning and collaboration models and techniques.
Be versed in adult learning theories, principles; evaluation and assessment methods; understand the current landscape and trends in innovative learning technologies and learning methodologies, as well as social and mobile technologies.
Apply ADDIE process to product design and development.
Applicant has to be enrolled in a degree-program during the time of the internship
Pursuing a masters in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems or Learning Technologies, or other related field
Applicant has to be authorized to work in the U.S. (International students, have to be able to provide proof of work authorization).
Applicant has to be able to commute to Midtown Manhattan, New York City on a daily basis.
2-3 years of work experience in the related field would be a plus

Technical Skills Required:

Proficient with one of the following tools: Adobe Storyline, Adobe Presenter, Adobe Captivate; or/and other tools;
Understand Moodle LMS capabilities in order to design learning solutions for delivering via Moodle
Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills

Hours: 15 -- 20 hours per week. Flexible work hours to accommodate class schedule during the summer and during the school semesters. Internship duration - six months.

Opportunity to participate in an AMA Public Seminar.

Pay: $10/hour (undergrad), $12/hour (grad)

Reports to the Director of Instructional Design, at AMA's New York City Headquarters.
