About the Job
The Technical Project Manager manages a team of software developers (2-3) to gather and/or analyze project requirements, design technical specifications and to implement, test and deploy custom websites.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Recommend and improve systems and policies for maintaing company own technologies and streamlining project deliverables.
Work with clients to establish effective strategies, making technological recommendations that will be of the utmost benefit to ensure success of the project.
Supervise software developers responsible for the organization's software development function to ensure quality and efficacy are met and standards are followed in all programming efforts.
Manage software development projects by providing the appropriate technical specifications and direction to development resources and establishing realistic estimates for timelines to ensure that projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
Set and implement policies and procedures related to software quality standards, change control and testing.
Identify and implement appropriate design, development and testing methodologies, best practices, documentation and tools to be applied to new and ongoing maintenance of applications.
Maintain Rack Space Cloud Servers
Deploy Rack Space Cloud Servers when needed
Maintain source code and change management control.
Manage the release process.
Assist in coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications on projects when necessary.
Maintain support tickets daily and route to other company resources when appropriate or required.
Review proposals post sale and prior to submitting work details to development team so that you are aware if the scope and pull together a list of the proper system plug ins based upon the project requirements when necessary.
Review and test all deliverables from the development team prior to releasing to the client for review. Report any bugs or abnormalities within 24 hours of findings.
Maintain frequent and timely communication with clients whom projects are actively in process to set and maintain realistic expectations.
Desired Skills/Experience
3+ years prior experience managing a software development team in a LAMP stack environment (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP).
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Strong communications skills, the ability to present ideas and challenges to development and management staff to promote collaboration
Understanding of Web related technologies
Excellent verbal and written communications
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Hands-on experience with the following:
Participating and supporting an Agile/Scrum process for release planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
Setting and measuring employee goals in annual and mid-year reviews
Build a highly performing team
Prior significant, hands-on LAMP stack web-based software development experience (you can also still code)
Experience Working with Wordpress and Magento Ecoomcerce platforms
Other Skills/Experience
