Bookkeeper/Admin Asst/Receptionist

Small Brooklyn CPA firm has immediate opening for an experienced bookkeeper/administrative assistant/receptionist. Duties include bookkeeping and write-up services for several small business clients, assist with tax return preparation, and assist with certain administrative duties.

This is a permanent position, but the ideal candidate would be able to work 40 hours per week

The bookkeeping work includes the posting and keypunching transactions to QuickBooks, preparation of bank reconciliations, handling after-the-fact payroll thru QuickBooks, preparation of monthly and quarterly compilation & payroll reports, preparation of sales & use tax reports; reviewing clients' compliance regarding independent contractors and employees, preparation of 1099 forms and other bookkeeping duties as required by clients.

During tax season, this individual will assist in income tax preparation by assisting clients, organizing client documents, scanning and copying tax documents, and assembling income returns for clients.

This individual will be expected to perform general office duties that will include answering the phone, receiving clients, setting up and maintaining files, updating contact lists, updating clients' corporate minute books, etc.

The individual should have a good understanding of basic accounting and tax concepts, such as depreciation and income tax basis method of accounting; be proficient with accounting on a computerized system; and have a solid working knowledge of QuickBooks Pro, Word, and Excel. The ability to learn other computer programs and adapt to software changes is needed.

The individual should be detail oriented, have an aptitude for logical and analytical thinking, a good problem solver, be well organized, an independent worker, self-motivated, a quick learner, and dependable. Some knowledge of current tax laws governing small businesses would be beneficial.

Job Duties:
?Maintains client information in database by inputting/creating invoices and refund data
?Resolves order problems/client complaints and investigating data and history; determining the cause of problem; selecting best solution; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
?Provides product and meal plan information, promotions, pricing, and answering basic questions
?Creating and inputting invoices and refund data
?Filing and creating accounts for new clients
?Assist kitchen staff with daily production report numbers and summary
?Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Skills/Qualifications: Computer Literate, Data Entry Skills with accuracy, Multitasker, Attention to detail, Phone Etiquette, Customer Service Experience, Problem Solving, Administrative Writing Skills, Listening and Comprehension Skills, Patience, Professionalism

Work hours: Monday -- Friday, 8:30 AM -5:00 PM with a half hour lunch.

Requirements:
? 2+ years as a Admin Asst, Receptionist or equivalent experience;
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
? Fast typing and learning;
? Proficiency on MS Windows, Outlook, MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint, etc.)
? Skills of Photoshop will be a plus;
? Effective, detail oriented;
? Able to work accurately & multi-task;
? Team player and have a positive attitude;
? Able to follow instructions and willingness to assume responsibility;
? Driver skill required;

Responsibilities:
? Process paperwork including marketing martial & other as needed;
? Online research based on requirements;
? Answering phone calls; occasionally hosting conference calls;
? Filing files & organizing office;
? Shipping/Mailing arrangements;
? Occasionally travel arrangements;
? Occasionally arrange team meals /social events;
? Errands or other office duties/projects as designated and needed.

Compensation commensurate with experience. 1 month trial period.
