Senior Systems Engineer - Virtualization (Parsippany, NJ)

Technical Requirements:
- VMware ESXi 4.1+, 5.0 -- Proven experience installing, troubleshooting, and architecting solutions with ESXi and the other suite of software (vShield, vCloud Director, vCenter Chargeback, etc) on the MS Windows Platform
- Experience with every modern OS (specifically CentOS, RedHat, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, FreeBSD, MS Windows 2008)
- In-depth understanding of hypervisor functionality and architecture
- A firm grasp on IP networking technologies, VLANs, switches, routers, subnetting, MTU, IPv6, firewall principles, VPN
- Experience with enterprise storage systems (NetApp, EMC, Equallogic, etc)
- Ability to develop and build on in-house VMware management PowerCLI scripts
- Strong documentation skills a must
- Must be highly organized

Job Responsibilities:
- Work with customers and other technical staff to design and implement cloud solutions using VMware ESXi and vCloud Director
- Assess production systems for flaws and propose remediation
- Oversee administration of all company virtualization and support systems
- Work with technical management to implement infrastructure upgrades and maintenance
- Improve automation of cloud infrastructure to allow scaling
- Provide leadership and coaching to junior staff
- Provide occasional on-site support (25%) to local clients

Job Duties:
- This is an on-call position. Candidate will participate in a primary/secondary rotation, and be on-call for escalation about critical systems/outages other times.
- This position requires maintenance to be performed in off-hours. Candidate will be required to perform these activities on a regular basis
- On-site support may be necessary for things like Cloud Migrations, P2V, etc.
