Polaris Solutions, LLC provides consulting and technology services for the life science industry with clients including many of the largest global pharmaceutical companies, as well as other pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotech firms. Polaris Solutions offers a series of specialty web-based applications, which are configured and customized based on the requirements of our clients. Polaris hosts the applications in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, and their clients sign hosting, support, and software licensing agreements on an average term of 36 months.

These solutions offer industry and client specific forms and workflows related to data collection, request approval, and audit capabilities for the pharmaceutical industry. The systems, on average, host around 500 unique external users and service up to 10,000 requests per year.

Position Overview:

The Business Operations Analyst will assist Polaris leadership with the engagement and transition of projects from business to development teams. The analyst will be responsible for managing our offshore vendors, reconciling invoices and data, and making recommendations for efficiency. Additionally, the analyst will work with teams led by Consultants and/or Project Managers to meet goals and objectives as outlined in client contracts/agreements. The Project Manager for each project will assign duties, track accomplishments, monitor and review performance of the Analyst and all team members. Special projects and internal projects will also be assigned on an as needed basis by members of management and senior associates.

Core Responsibilities of Ops Analyst
? Manage an efficient off and on shore development and testing process
o Tracking, validating and benchmarking development and QA estimates
o Reconciling deliverables with POs, estimates and SOWs
o Identifying and quantifying cost and efficiency savings
o Measure and report on quality of deliverables, and suggesting improvements to continuously improve quality
o Educate the management team on progress through reporting
o Implement measures to save development costs by 20% over the first year
? Manage and maintain a development schedule to efficiently deploy on and off shore resources
o Development and QA Pipeline: Maintain tracking of active development, expected start and completion dates, PO budget remaining
? Work Effort Tracking: Maintain database of development objects and estimates, QA estimates as they are received, reconcile actuals vs. estimates
? Agreement Adherence: Ensure SOWs/POs are present and signed for all projects
? Change Control: Oversee change control and deviations from scope -- coordinate between project and development teams
? SOP Authoring: Document development SOPs and policies
? Policy Enforcement: Develop and enforce development forms and procedures (Production Release Form, New Project Form, Code Deployment SOPs, etc)
? Budget Management: Produce budget tracking reports against 2012 PS Budget and update documentation/budget as needed
? Data Compliance: Assist with Deltek updates and management of staffing and project plans
? Status Reports: Collect data from Project Managers to produce weekly status reports

? Development Pipeline Report
? PS Weekly Status Reports

General Requirements:
? 1-3 years of related work experience
? Undergraduate degree in business, MIS, or related field
? Entrepreneurial, well organized, self-motivated, team player
? Client facing skills such as advanced communication skills and presentation skills
? Project management experience/interest
? An interest in technology, business and traditional management consulting
? Willingness to have a different opinion, ability to articulate thoughts and concepts well
? Ability and willingness to strive to improve skills related to the Polaris Core Competencies

Additional Skills Preferred (not required):
? Experience with full lifecycle system implementations preferred (requirements, build, testing, training)
? Familiarity with ASP.NET, SQL, Windows Architecture preferred[IIS, Windows Server], Microsoft Office Expertise
? Experience or knowledge of pharmaceutical industry a plus

Physical and Location Requirements:
? Ability to work in the office on a regular basis (core Polaris office hours are 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday in the NYC office)
? Ability to travel to client and vendor sites as needed
? Upon hire, candidate must be able to successfully pass background and drug test
