JOB DESCRIPTION:
Oversee projects from print to completion.
Act as an intermediary between office and shop floor.
Aid in the management of projects and staff on shop floor.
Oversee the delivery and installation of completed projects.
Interact with clients, designers, architects and engineers, as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Understanding of construction methods for fixtures, furniture and interior/exterior architectural elements.
Knowledge and extensive experience in the fabrication and finishing of a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Extensive knowledge and experience in rigging and onsite installation.
Ability to read, understand and work from detailed shop drawings.
Understanding of and experience with various welding and brazing processes (MIG, TIG, Oxy-Acetylene, etc.) and know how to set up, prepare for and run them.
Knowledge and/or experience in general construction.
Problem solving skills for working through fabrication and installation issues on projects that may have a unique, non-typical material and/or construction.
Ability to stay calm and confident, keeping attention to detail and to have autonomy when working to make sure mistakes are corrected and/or prevented.
Organizational skills to help maintain the production schedule and the ability to multitask between projects.
Must be able to give and take direction effectively, as well as follow shop protocols.
Experience and understanding of manual and/or CNC machining operations (lathe, mill) a plus.
