PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Overall review of the academy's current accounting, accounts payable and payroll systems.
? Provide recommendations for improving the accounts payable and payroll systems.
? Set up and review the tuition collection process as per diocesan internal controls.
? Install QuickBooks at the academy.
? Hire and train the financial secretary, as needed.
? Prepare the annual budget.
? Compile the Annual Financial Statement for the fiscal year.
? Prepare monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors.
? Prepare the quarterly and annual tax and payroll reports.
? Attend evening board meetings and advise on the financial responsibility of the academy.
? Provide general accounting services to the academy.
REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
? Three to five (3-5) years' experience in accounting field
? Knowledge of non-profit accounting
? Working knowledge of QuickBooks
? Computer proficiency with emphasis on Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
? Valid driver's license and dependable vehicle for travel to academies within Brooklyn and Queens
? Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Highly collaborative and an effective team member
