SCHEDULE: Full-Time

SUMMARY:

Provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of The Jewish Museums' PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include percentage of time):

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities:
? Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction
? Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
? Monitor Help Desk tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority
? Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstations
? Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software
? Document internal procedures
? Assist with onboarding of new users
? Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
? Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
? Prepare helpdesk activity reports
? Report issues to the Service Desk for escalation
? Perform timely workstation hardware and software maintenance and upgrades as required
? Train staff in Desktop software use and best practices.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Any tasks or projects assigned by CIO.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (including physical requirements):

? Strong aptitude in both Windows and Apple (MAC) OS repairs, spy ware and virus removal, hardware, upgrades and troubleshooting.
? The candidate will possess an understanding of the following:
o Windows XP/7, MAC OS X
o MS Office 2010 products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Access),
o Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and wireless configuration
o BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad
? Ability to read computer instruction manuals and comprehend directions therein in order to remedy computer equipment malfunctions.
? Interpersonal skills necessary to train others in computer systems and software.
? Ability to communicate problems with supervisors as they become known.
? Ability to meet deadlines.
? Ability to provide customers with outstanding care and service at all times.
? Ability to work independently and to know when to escalate issues.
? Exceptional communication, verbal and written skills, Problem analysis and solving skills
? Ability to transport and carry equipment up to 50lbs
? Strong planning and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
? Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field
? MCP, A+ certification, or Microsoft Specialist training is a plus.
? 2 years of relevant technical experience
