Resolvit IT & Management Consulting is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer to work as a full-time Resolvit employee in New York, NY. The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsibility for all functions relating to the planning, design, installation, configuration and operation of our internal technology infrastructure. The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and coordinating all infrastructure-based activities including installation of new hardware, monitoring servers, backup and recovery, ensuring high availability, resolving complex problems, monitoring all IT related work orders, providing leadership and direction to all Corporate IT Systems Engineers, and being responsible for team work schedules from a day to day perspective.

The incumbent employee assists in the creation, maintenance and versioning of documentation related to Corporate IT processes, procedures and associated guidelines. The position's responsibilities require independent analysis, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment. The Sr. Systems Engineer must be able to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining a high level of service

The Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for the following duties to exceed the expectations of the client:

? Responsible for all functions relating to the planning, design, installation, configuration and operation of Medidata's internal technology infrastructure
? Work directly with vendor contacts to resolve technical problems affecting the delivery of CIT services and/or uptime related to software/application solutions, Servers, SAN technology, storage, and peripheral equipment
? Configure, install, monitor and implement servers
? Identify & troubleshoot server configuration and/or performance irregularities. Develop procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner
? Ensure entire infrastructure is properly monitored and alerts regarding infrastructure outages are addressed in a timely manner
? Develop and test scripts to automate routine tasks
? Overview all tasks, prioritize and distribute to all team members. Oversee the execution and completion of assigned tasks
? Development of service level metrics for delivery, problem escalation/resolution processes and performance monitoring
? Expected to provide timely resolutions on reported issues and services by evaluating, tracking, escalating, managing, and ensuring timely closure of all requests/problems reported to the Corporate IT Operations team
? Create and maintain documentation and trains Operations team on procedures.
? Provides technical direction and recommendations for Infrastructure hardware/software and related technologies
? Assists with creation/maintenance of customer service SLAs
? Maintain and participate in Off-Hours rotational support schedule for Corporate IT Operations Team
? Works with Desktop Support and Networking staff to determine and resolve high level problems
? Document and improve existing processes
? Escalation / on-call responsibilities are required as part of this position
? "Follow the Sun Support" for global Datacenters, branch offices and Medidata global user community

Other skills and requirements include:
? Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or related experience
? Proven track record identifying and championing appropriate new technologies
? Innovative and thinks out of the box
? Strong commitment to high-quality customer service and strong work ethic
? 2-4 years of IT managerial or supervisory experience preferred
? Exceptionally self-motivated and directed with ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
? Proven leadership ability to motivate and distribute tasks to team members in a team-oriented environment
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills * including interpersonal / customer service skills
? Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
? Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining a high level of service
? Effectively participate and provide 24 x 7 production support on a rotating basis or when called upon
? High level of knowledge of current Windows Server technology
? High level of knowledge of automated software distribution, security patch management, server monitoring, and Disaster Recovery practices
? Strong knowledge of DHCP/DNS/WINS/FTP
? Strong knowledge of backup tools, image builds, and server recovery
? Solid understanding of TCP/IP
? Strong performance tuning and capacity planning experience
? Experience with VMware
? The ability to lift and handle packages/hardware with the approximate weight of 50 pounds or more
? 5 - 10% travel may be required in order to support Global Datacenters and branches
