The Cafe Prep Cook is responsible for production of food as well as maintaining proper food handling and sanitation procedures. In general, this person is responsible for preparing food as assigned with minimal deviation and moderate supervision while insuring that items produced are consistent with Abigail Kirsch's high standards of quality.
Qualifications:
1+ years culinary experience in quality and high volume establishment
Food Handlers certification preferred but not required
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent knife skills
Must be able to multi-task
Able to work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels
Complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and standards
Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks at once.
Able to use various kitchen equipment
Able to identify and differentiate food items
Able to withstand extreme temperatures within the kitchen working environment ranging from 0 to 100 degrees.
Able to visually inspect, taste and smell product to ensure freshness and quality.
Able to communicate effectively with associates, management, customers and vendors if necessary.
