Production Coordinator for Children's Apparel (Midtown West)

Responsibilities will include:
? Oversee production process of generic and licensed apparel from time order is placed thru delivery
? Communicate with overseas factories on a daily basis to follow up on all issues and approvals to ensure timely delivery of product.
? Review lab dips, strike offs, prints, fabric & pre-production samples; create and send clear comments to the factories
? Collaborate with designers to ensure final production is as envisioned in original concept

Qualified candidates must:
? have 3-5 years related apparel industry experience; childrenswear and/or licensing experience a plus
? be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
? have excellent written communication skills
? be an organized, detail oriented, team player able to effectively multi task and work independently in fast paced environment

In order to be considered for the position you MUST have the following:
* A minimum of 2 yrs. experience coaching/teaching groups of children.
* Strong group and classroom management skills.
* A clear demonstration of success in working with children (verified by references) in grades K-1, 2-4 or 5-7.
* Up to date fingerprint clearance by the NYC Department of Education. If you are not currently fingerprinted you will be required to complete it before starting.

Additional requirements that are a PLUS, but not required:
* Updated First Aid/CPR
* Previous experience teaching in an afterschool setting

Job Details:
* Teach 3-4 hours a week. Classes are typically one hour long.
* 20-25 students in each class.
* A mandatory training will be provided along with ongoing staff development trainings and support.
* $20-$35/hour depending on education and experience.

We use media, film and photos, to build awareness online for our projects are looking for an intern to help us maintain our Wordpress site.

Our first project where we brought painting supplies to the Maranatha School and Orphanage in Haiti was a great success. With the exhibition of the children's work in our Chelsea Gallery we were able to make enough to rebuild their school which was destroyed in the earthquake. We further teamed up with a major clothing manufacturer to create luxury cashmere scarves featuring the children's work for sale in retail outlets around the world. all profits go to the children.
