QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be outgoing, energetic, self-motivated, and passionate about art
* Minimum of with 2 years experience teaching children between the ages of 18m-5y.
* A Bachelor's degree in Early Chilhood Education, Fine Arts, Multi-media or is required, and M.A. or M.F.A in related field is preferred.
* Must have strong people skills and the ability to work well with both children and adults.
* Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively on projects with staff and students.
* Knowledge of developing art lessons and units of study that incorporate the multiple intelligences while running a workshop-?based classroom is required.
* Teaching Artists are encouraged to incorporate their own art practices into workshop designs and curriculum.

The Early Childhood Program Director manages a great team of six programs, 40 staff members and 200 three and four year old children. The staff team is experienced. The successful candidate will have previous supervisory experience and UPK experience or at least one year. Permanent certification in Early Childhood required. Early Childhood Coach (New York, NY)

The Early Childhood coach will work collaboratively with the Coaching Supervisor and building principal to support teachers in the implementation and alignment of Early Childhood curriculum.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coach teachers in effective instructional practices and strategies to increase student achievement and engagement
- Coach teachers in other important strategies including classroom environment recommendations that will promote group and individual learning.
- 75% of the coach’s time should be spent in direct contact with classroom teachers in the capacity of reviewing data, co-planning, co-teaching, real-time coaching, or modeling best practices.
- Assist in identifying, acquiring, and organizing available classroom resources to support student achievement.
- Provide principals feedback as to coaching progress.
- Additional duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Possess an understanding of the state standards, curriculum, and assessment program with an emphasis in Early Childhood
- Have demonstrated success in the use of data to improve instruction.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in problem solving and willingness to perform modeling and real-time coaching tasks.
- Demonstrated expertise in effective teaching strategies and experience in preparing and presenting high quality, research based professional development.
- Organizational and planning skills for setting both short term and long range goals, and for coordinating efforts for timely accomplishment of those goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through the respect of peers and the ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships.
- Willingness to continually learn new information and skills related to student learning and achievement, including content areas that may be outside of current skill set
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology and instructional media tools and the ability to research and implement best practices
- Flexible and willing to adapt to changes
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years classroom teaching experience
- Masters degree
