Troubleshoot and repair commercial cooking, warewashing and food preparation equipment that is powered by gas, steam, electric, and microwave. Specific types of food equipment include but not limited to: ovens, microwaves, fryers, dishwashers, kettles, mixers, food warmers, slicers, toasters, coffee makers, coffee grinders, and others that are used in restaurants and institutions. Must be able to use one's technical knowledge and to provide repair solutions so the customer can resume operations.
Must be able to identify equipment parts, possess a working knowledge of the company's parts inventory, and use manufacturer resources to resolve the situation. Service calls include everything from preventative maintenance checks to emergency service.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
Qualifications: reliability, mechanical aptitude, good communication and writing skills, college degree preferred, however high school/GED accepted. Must have a clean driving record, valid license, and own tools. At least 3 years mechanical experience and skills or willing to train. Kitchen equipment repair experience preferred.
Characteristics: Dependability, positive attitude, orderliness, alertness, thoroughness, tolerance. Technician is required to wear a clean company uniform, maintain a clean service vehicle, and keep parts organized to maintain the company's professional image. Attendance at certain technical training schools and trade shows demonstrations may be required to improve and enhance one's knowledge and skills.
