Lead Porter at Chelsea Coffee Bar, New York City

This is an non-exempt position.
Eligible to participate in the company Health Insurance plan after 90 days.
Weekly Schedule: An average of approximately 30-40 hours/week should include time to accomplish administrative tasks. Flexibility is essential during busy seasons or when normal workflow is interrupted by unforeseen events.

Creating and maintaining a clean, sleek, functional and friendly environment is very much what Blue Bottle stands for. The Lead Porter position also includes the supervising of a small Team and is responsible for all repairs and maintenance of the inside and outside of our space.

? Manage incoming/outgoing deliveries

? Maintain and are responsible for all cleaning and organizing all equipment and supplies (including conducting monthly inventory)
? Is familiar with New York City Health Code and can perform cleaning tasks as mandated by New York City Department of Health guidelines and standards.
? Assist baristas and siphon baristas as needed, including but not limited to washing and restocking dishes, preparing iced coffee, clearing dishes from the caf?, running supplies to the siphon bar, and helping with food preparation.
? Assigns projects and tasks as needed and follows up to ensure the task/project was completed correctly.
? Discuss repairs that need to be made to equipment or any building facilities.
? Maintains the facilities at 450 West 15th Street, Chelsea, NY, including the floors, windows, storage area, the office, the Front Bar and the Siphon Bar area.
? Replaces lightbulbs as needed, adjusts the doors and installs small pieces of furniture or equipment.
? Is comfortable following direction and also problem solving in the moment
? Are professional at all times and in all situations.
? Act as a representative of Blue Bottle at all times.

Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
? High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
? NYC Food Protection Certification
? Basic math and computer skills.
Qualifications:
? Porter/Janitor experience preferred
Language Skills:
? Ability to read and speak English proficiently
