SUMMARY:

A highly specialized role, requiring a sophisticated individual to spearhead the identification, development and execution of all business development initiatives for an award winning industry specific practice group. This person will serve as a trusted advisor to a team of Partners representing matters in the United States, European Union, the Middle East and Asia, granting the opportunity to travel and work internationally.

The ideal candidate will leverage their strong understanding of banking, securities, derivatives, stock exchange, financial products and transactions, players and competitive market landscape to identify and evaluate prospective clients as well as develop and execute business development strategy and brand awareness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with Partners to develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive, maintain and grow industry position and brand awareness both globally and by region
• Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis and reporting on the current market landscape, industry competition, market trends, internal financial information, business opportunities and pitch activity
• Track, monitor and report on news, cases, industry trends and issues impacting current and prospective clients
• Evaluate potential client development sponsorship and event opportunities to determine relevance to firm's strategic business goals
• Coordinate and manage practice group events, including seminars, trade shows, webinars and conferences
• Partner with the global PR team to ensure successful matters, initiatives and products are appropriately publicized internally and externally
• Serve as point of contact for all inquiries related to the groups transactional and regulatory lawyer expertise, product expertise, firm experience, industry/trade group organizations, legal, industry and business trends, industry-specific marketing collateral, and industry-specific media
• Manage practice group budget forecasting, tracking and spending and provide ROI analysis and reporting
• Draft and maintain industry specific content and rankings for proposal management system
• Draft, edit and proofread pitch materials, responses to RFPs and other business development materials
• Develop industry specific directory and award submissions
• Organize and lead regular meetings or conference calls with Partners, working both one-on-one and in group settings; prepare all necessary research, agendas and presentations

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of business development, marketing intelligence analysis and pitch/proposal experience within a law firm or professional services corporation
• Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of financial dealings related to banking, securities, derivatives, stock exchange matters and other financial products and transactions
• Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to drive results with minimal direction
• Strong client service orientation with exceptional written and verbal communication
• Proven relationship-builder with outstanding interpersonal skills and talent for effectively interacting with all levels of Partners, Clients, and co-workers
• Thrives in environments requiring the ability to effectively prioritize and strategically managing concurrent projects
• Bachelor's degree required, MBA and majors in related fields preferred
