production assistant (Midtown West)

Participate in all style development meetings for relevant brand groups to ensure that the garment is developed according to all customer or brand specifications and that the package is prepared, complete and clearly communicated to the overseas offices and factories for development. Set up style in PLM and update changes as required.
?Obtain and verify specifications, testing and approvals of all garment components and fabrics from factories and vendors.
?Provide all daily communication between the factories, design, production and the customers regarding fit, specification and testing and coordinate functions through development issues to avoid confusion in direction to the factories. Call-out unresolved issues to design, tech and production. Follow-up and coordinate response and actions to factories and vendors.
?Provide factories a list of all necessary test, sampling and specifications parameters required for the customer the garment is being developed for before cost estimates are submitted. Make sure these are verified, understood by the factory and overseas offices.
?Establish and enforce the PLT/T&A calendars with the factories. Manage the full garment development and test cycle through production including fabric and garment testing, color approvals, fit comments, etc. whether at the company or through the customer
?Formally hand-over production package to factory and turn over production issues communication with the factories to production once complete.
?Manage color approvals. Monitor and update information from Color Monitor report. Coordinate comments, approvals, rejections and "Best-Can-Do" approvals with customers to prevent production delays.
?Chase factories and/or overseas teams for samples, lab dips, strike-offs, specifications, test results and component identifications.
?Participate in production meetings to update current status of outstanding development issues weekly.
?Work with QA/QC on issues related to garment construction, patterns and specifications as they arise.

Requirements:
Speaks Chinese Mandarin
?5+ years garment industry experience in product development, engineering, production or sales
?Strong MS Office Suite skills, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, PLM and PDM a strong plus.
?Background in knit and woven and color approvals
?Knowledge in FIT
?Proactive and strong organizational skills
