Associate / Contract Lawyer needed for Professor

Avoid scams and fraud by dealing locally! Beware any deal involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, cashier check, money order, shipping, escrow, or any promise of transaction protection/certification/guarantee. More infoI am a law professor (non-litigator) who needs support in a personal commercial litigation matter in NY state court involving federal and state claims. I am a lawyer and know my way around legal matters, but I am not a litigator. I need someone who is extraordinarily precise, and who knows how to look up precedents and think strategically. At least some experience in practice is important (no new law grads or paralegals please) but more than experience I'd like someone who knows how to figure out step by step and issue by issue what needs to be done, and who can take some initiative to drive this forward. I will be participating in the process myself of course, so to a great extent you would be assisting me rather than being an outside lawyer for a client. I do not need someone to show up in court, be attorney of record, or the like.

Please tell me about your experience and background. Ideally, you would write me a few sentences about you that address your background (year out of law school, school, what you did since then) and this posting (your flexibility to plan to stay with this a while, being ok with this price range, etc). I don't plan to review emails that just cut and paste in your resume.

Comp can be discussed, but I am assuming it is in the $25/hr range. This project will go on for perhaps a year, and since I am dealing with (literally) multi-billion dollar companies on the other side proposing to "litigate me to death", the number of hours will fluctuate over that time period. I'm flexible in when and how much support you provide, but would like to know you'll make the effort to be available when needed subject to other conflicts you have. Given the circumstances, you need not be locally situated.

Compensation: See aboveTelecommuting is ok.This is a part-time job.Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster. Please, no phone calls about this job! Please do not contact job poster about other services, products or commercial interests.
