The Purchasing Manager will plan, execute, and finalize purchasing and procurement strategies for material spending across the organization.

Essential Functions:
?Purchasing of leather and all other material components for domestic and overseas production; Negotiate the pricing, terms and conditions of contracts and sales with vendors and suppliers
?Calculate future leather and material needs based on past usage, current sales and projections
?Manage the purchase order process; includes creating purchase orders, reviewing, verifying, investigating problems including quality, calling appropriate parties, preparing documents for payment, clearing shipments and tracking deliveries. Ensure that credits and discounts are received and applied
?Analyze issues or changes in components and materials to reduce the cost and improve on quality
?Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures in conjunction with department specific requirements, in order to support production and product development
?Develop and maintain inventory and purchasing reports
?Compare and coordinate freight forwarders to obtain the best rates for deliveries on international shipments to and from the USA and Asia

Qualifications and Requirements:
?A minimum of 5 years direct work experience in a purchasing capacity, leather goods and paper products is a plus
?Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; MAS 200 knowledge is a plus
?Ability to deal tactfully with vendors and suppliers, persuasive, encouraging and diplomatic
?Strong written and oral communication skills
