Coffee Manager Needed for Bar/Cafe (Bushwick)

We are a local bar/cafe located in Bushwick looking to expand our food operation. The bar currently has a large hood built in (it was formerly a restaurant), but we would like to experiment with our food options before making significant investments into a food operation.

We have a small 20 sq ft enclosed kitchen that we currently use for storage that we would like to experiment with using to serve food. Equipment consists of a handwashing sink basin, a rolling cart, a stainless steel countertop, a microwave, and a hot dog machine.

The bar is open every day from 6pm to 4am. It is busiest on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday nights after 11pm, but also has a busy Thursday happy hour (6pm to 10pm).

We are looking for a motivated individual who is interested in running a self-sufficient food operation from within the bar. You can set your own hours and create your own menu to work in tandem with the bar. A few things to keep in mind with the menu:

- there is no hood in the kitchen, so you cannot use a stovetop, grill, or deep-fryer?
- space is extremely limited in our kitchen?
- we are busiest after 10pm?
- menus that utilize a microwave, convection oven, panini press, or salad/sandwich low-boy station would work best?

As far as the food operation goes, a few things to consider:

- you set your own hours?
- we would reimburse you for the initial ingredients?
- we can purchase equipment such as a convection oven & industrial panini grill?
- you would be responsible for your own system of payment collection, inventory, and ordering?

We're looking for an individual who is interested in pursuing their own restaurant one day, and believe that this opportunity is a great intermediate step. Think you can blend things like grilled cheese sandwiches, salads, and finger foods into our bar? Then we look forward to hearing from you!

Feel free to submit your resume with relevant coffeeshop experience!
