Central Processing Technician (New York, NY)

As part of this team, you will decontaminate, package, and sterilize reusable hospital surgical instrumentation and equipment as per established hospital and departmental guidelines.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Infection Control-Practices proper safety guidelines per department guidelines in the decontamination area and complies with hospital and department infection control practices.
- Assembly & Packaging - Inspects and prepares instrumentation and equipment during assembly and packaging.
- Sterilization- Selects appropriate sterilization mode, sterilizes items, and verifies established department/AAMI Standards for sterilization.
- Storage - Follows department guidelines and procedures for proper cool down, storage, and rotation of supplies.
- Distribution - Distributes items upon request to user areas completing appropriate documentation.
- Inventory Management - Manages inventory appropriately 

Required Knowledge:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (l) year or more experience as a Central Processing Technician
- CRCST or CSPT or CST  Certification
- Basic ABACUS and OPTIME knowledge(Minimum computer use)
- Ability to do some heavy lifting, pulling and pushing; stand for long periods of time; work with hazardous chemicals; work in area with high temperatures.

Days: Monday thru Friday,  

Hours: 11:00PM to 7:00AM  variable weekends and Holidays
