Politics does not just take place in the Oval Office at the White House or the Chambers of the United States Senate.  Decisions on these issues are not just being made by local and state representatives.  Politics happen every day.  They take place at dinner tables, in conversations between friends and every second of the day. 

We need to focus on activating people all across the United States. By building support around progressive issues from reproductive rights to marriage equality and environmental justice, we are able to activate people and see victories on these issues this year.

Grassroots Campaigns is looking for Assistant Directors to help manage one of our campaign offices, to build community support, educate the public and recruit new members for one of the progressive organizations or charities we partner with.

Job responsibilities include:
Recruit a team of 10-40 canvassers to represent top issue-based organizations on the front lines of the progressive movement. Responsible for developing and implementing a plan to hire talented staff.

Manage, train and develop staff into activists and leaders in a canvass office. Work with staff to develop them into the next leaders of the progressive movement.

Canvass to raise funds and build support in the community. Lead staff by example and work on the front lines for the most important issues facing our nation.

Requirements for Position:
Strong communication and motivational skills, work ethic, and desire for political change are essential. Candidates must be able to work within a team, have proven leadership ability and an orientation towards handling a lot of responsibility. Strong self-direction and the ability to take initiative are also necessary qualifications. Previous field or canvassing experience is a plus, and may qualify candidates for additional leadership positions.
