Dan Barber, Blue Hill's Executive Chef/ Co-Owner, is regarded as an expert in the field of sustainability and local agriculture. In spring of 2006, Dan received the James Beard award for Best Chef: New York City, and in 2009 was named James Beard's Outstanding Chef. Time Magazine featured him in their 2009 edition of "Time 100", an annual list of the world's most influential people.
