Seeking a dynamic and creative designer with minimum 5 years of experience. The candidate must be self-driven, motivated and capable of executing both modern and contextually appropriate designs. The applicant must be able to engage in all phases of a project from design through construction administration to FF&E.

The candidate should possess the following:

Must currently reside in NYC, and available for immediate hire.

Degree from an accredited Bachelors or Masters program in Architecture
Strong design and technical aptitude
Proficiency in AutoCAD with excellent drafting skills
Familiarity with Office suite and Adobe programs
CD development experience
Zoning and code familiarity
Consultant and DOB coordination ability
Effective communication and leadership skills

Job Description Includes but is not limited to:

Site survey of building conditions
Preparation of architectural drawings for purposes of, bidding, and building department filing.
Coordination with client and project consultants including mechanical and electrical engineering, lighting, acoustical, structural, and furniture consultants.
Preparation of administrative documents, including survey reports, meeting minutes, scope of work description, and punch lists.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors and sub-contractors while ensuring quality of final product for client.
Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to verify field conditions.
Daily communication about workload with project architect staff, follow up on productivity and progress.
Defines client requirements and establishes project approach, coordinate all vendors, disciplines, etc including but not limited to MEP, Structural, Fire and Life Safety, expeditors, code officials, specialty consultants such as AV/Acoustics, POs, Security, fixture, FFE, and interacts with architectural boards including Landmarks, TAS, etc.
Ensures that all required information for design and planning
Works closely with designers and project architects in establishing the project schedule, technical requirements, time and hourly budgets
Reviews client billing and does A/R follow up as necessary
Identifies objectives and formulates options, conceptualizes total project and establish key work priorities for development of design, schedules, and budgets
Prepares design drawings, working drawings, specifications and cost estimates for projects, initiates and develops design and construction drawing for project
Interprets design concepts by partnering with design team and translates them into workable, buildable construction systems, evaluates alternatives to develop solution while maintaining a high quality of technical and design control
Coordinates and communicates regularly with managers, consultants, and team members regarding project status, ensure work meets client requirements, is timely and completed within schedule and budget.
Maintains records to document phases of client/architect/contractor relationship and activities.
