Looking for FOH Manager/ Head Bartender for New Williamsburg Community Focused Restaurant-Bar

About Us

We are opening a new community focused bar this Spring in Williamsburg with a large outdoor garden and are looking for a serious team player to develop and execute a fun cocktail menu, run the FOH operations, and work as Head Bartender.

The venue has 150 seats, a large kitchen space, approximately 2,000sf dining/bar area, and approx 1,700sf private outdoor garden.

We anticipate forging relationships within the entire Williamsburg community and beyond and expect to be a go-to entertainment and chill-out space with great casual food.

We will donate 2% of our business to local charities, and are already working with some of those charities including Open Space Alliance to make several green improvements to the immediate neighborhood.

We are a team that has opened successful restaurants, bars and even a mobile food truck. It is now time to create a great experience in our own back-yard (literally).

We are also quite focused on sourcing our food, ingredients, and even building materials from the most local and environment-friendly places possible.

The Job

You will run the FOH operation including scheduling, closing down, ordering, inventory, etc. You will be responsible for hiring and staffing while working with the owners giving you feedback.

We will give you clear direction about our vision, and with our feedback you will develop and execute it.

You'll have lots of freedom as well, and we welcome your expertise and suggestions.

This comes with a lot of responsibility so you should be a serious candidate and ready to work really hard. You should have experience in a similar position.

About You

This position is for you if:

You have substantial experience and operational knowledge of all back of the house functions from ordering to costing to menu development and running a kitchen.
You have a basic understanding of marketing as it relates to menu development
You have relationships with multiple vendors.
You can work like an animal and have a great time doing it.
You are not prissy about your food and care only about delivering great food to your friends.
You understand that being a chef does not mean that you are full of yourself.
You don't mind long hours.
You delight in going over the top to make customers happy.
You can juggle multiple tasks and requests at the same time.
You consider yourself a problem solver and don't get freaked out when things don't quite work out the way intended, but rather can find alternative solutions.
You are highly organized, detail oriented.
You are a great communicator.
You are creative and have a keen sense of menu development.
You have been on a successful kitchen team that has opened restaurants.
Willingness to get your hands dirty, learn and help out wherever assistance is needed are two of the most important qualities we are looking for.
