Kathy Kuo Designs is a trusted online luxury boutique featuring well curated furniture and home decor solutions to the design savvy and discerning customer.

We are currently seeking a freelance/ part- time copy writers to join our team. Work would be ongoing as we are looking for someone who has the flexibility to grow with us long term and work when needed. If you are seeking internship experience- we would be open to that, but this is definitely a paid position.

Who we are:
Kathy Kuo Designs was founded by Kathy Kuo in 2007, an entrepreneur, industrial and interior designer with a passion for interiors, architecture, and product. Our design work has been featured in numerous magazines and we continue to love working with clients to create compelling and innovative spaces to live and work in. Our online venture, www.kathykuodesigns.com is an online boutique that carries some of our own designs, but mainly the designs of our partners we work with. Most of our products are premium products that also retail at Neiman Marcus, Robb & Stucky, ABC Carpet/ Home and other mid-high end retail outlets nationwide. Our customers have traveled, and understand the difference between Hollywood Regency Style, and Louis XVI style and are generally design savvy consumers. They tend to shop at similar premium sites such as Horchow and One Kings Lane, and love getting the occasional bargain on something they have wanted for a while.

What we need:
Someone to write all of our product copy (around 500 to be done immediately and possibly more to be redone) as well as blogs, design pages, and any additional writing needs related to Kathy Kuo Designs. You will be paid per product. We constantly are adding new products so this would be an ongoing project.

You:
Are highly creative; enjoy interior design, furniture and home decor; have some knowledge in furniture and home decor lingo. Ie: You know what a finial is, what toile, and chevron fabric look like, and can distinguish the difference between gold leafing and gold paint. If you don't know it, wikipedia has most of the information you'll need to know on furniture and decor history and we will always edit everything before it goes live.

- Love working in your pajamas? No problem- we do too. You must be flexible as we add new accounts, we will require copy writing almost immediately once new accounts are added.

- Have some experience copy writing products for e-commerce and understand keyword importance, and Google search practices.

- Have had some experience writing blogs including relevant, researched, and interesting content for the average HGTV viewing audience.

-Care about growing businesses- I can't stress this enough- we have three people on our team, and all of us are highly passionate about what we do, and care about seeing KKD grow, as your compensation, and amount of work will grow with us as well. We are not interested in a one time contract position. I do not micro manage- you love your job because, well, you're good at it.

Compensation:
We have never done this before- though our thoughts are around $5 per product copy. This relates to bullets, descriptions, and search terms.

It takes us about 2 minutes per copy, though that is with a very experienced furniture/ decor writer. You could potentially earn up to $2500 in around 14 hours if you're really fast. :-) That being said, we don't expect you to work that fast, though we do expect your copy to read beautifully, be expertly keyword driven, and also evoke an emotional response that results in a sale.
