We are currently looking for a tech ops consultant for long term contract assignment - 6+ months.

As a Tech Ops Engineer you will provide technical support for infrastructure and day to day operations of the NOOK content ingestion services. You must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the support needs are always changing. You will have the opportunity to utilize a broad range of operating system, hardware, and software knowledge in your support effort, including systems running Windows .NET services and Java services on Linux virtual machines. This is a unique opportunity to work in an ever-expanding heterogeneous environment.

Responsibilities

- Advanced maintenance and support of various workflow orchestrated services processing multiple content formats in a high throughput environment
- 24x7 on-call rotation for support and operations issues with other tech ops engineers
- Work independently with minimal guidance on day to day tasks
- Work with engineers to devise solutions in response to engineering support requests and for improving internal processes and procedures
- Manage test environments and deployment projects from start to finish including configuration management, data and content management, through results compilation
- Manage trouble ticket queue: input, update and close tickets as work is completed
- Escalate trouble tickets in queue to appropriate resources and follow up to ensure completion within designated service level agreements
- Maintain existing file servers and manage queue of content pending resolution
- Follow pre-defined processes and design or collaborate on new ones
- Other technical projects as required

Requirements:

- Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably supporting an Engineering environment
- Dedication to excellent customer service in the face of challenging requirements
- Very Comfortable writing and executing SQL queries in various databases - query optimization.
- Some exp with Linux/Unix & Windows system administration preferred
- Ability to identify and resolve complex technical support issues through research, testing and problem solving skills
- Strong documentation skills (processes, Visio diagrams, procedures, user instructions)
- Experience with scripting or programming for light automation work
- Experience using various functions in Excel
