Overview:

Develop divisional and item level plans, placing initial purchases and reorders that assure optimal inventory levels that balance fulfillment and markdowns. Work with Buyers, and Divisional Merchandise Manager to meet or exceed the Divisional plans for sales, gross margin, initial and final fulfillment.

Key Accountabilities:
- Sales planning by item/color for each catalog offer and the Internet

- Assure that plans roll up to Division level plans

- Create initial orders, reorders, and backup orders to meet inventory needs

- Ensure total purchases are within company plans

- Responsible for initial in-stock percent (fill) through communication with vendors and timely follow-up on deliveries

- Track open purchase orders and delivery status

- Address daily/weekly item-level projections

- Reforecast items that are in future offers where necessary

- Adjust return rates where indicated

- Adjust size scales where necessary

- Place reorders to fill open-to-buy

- Determine actions necessary to reduce overstocks

- Ensure purchase orders are accurate in quantity and date through timely PO maintenance and FTC compliance

- Manage backorders and fulfillment through placing reorders, flagging of not-availables and mass canceling of old backorders

- Communicate with buyers regarding stock levels, vendor issues and backorder problems

- Prepare the monthly ROF - reforecasting sales, receipts, markdowns, and inventory levels

- Work with buyers and management to determine allocation of overstocks either internally (markdowns, Internet clearance, or clearance catalogs) or externally (jobbers)

- Work with Buyers, Planners, Warehouse staff, Item set-up staff, and Finance to identify opportunities and resolve issues

- Manage vendor relations to assure optimal productivity

- Attend Market appointments as necessary with the Buyers

- Prepare various analysis and reporting where necessary to support business decisions

Skills Summary:

- Bachelor's degree

- Minimum of three years experience in planning and/or inventory management (preferably in a catalog or internet environment)

- Excellent analytical skills

- Proficient computer skills - especially Excel

- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

- Strong attention to detail
