Greetings ! I am the owner of a competitive, boutique dog walking company serving the greater Park Slope area since early 2008. We are a tightly knit family of four, caring for upwards of 75 dogs. I am looking for a individual to join our crew for between 15-30 hours per week, negotiable. Must be available between the hours of 10:00 a.m and 4:00-6:00 pm weekdays, though not necessarily everyday. Pay is $12 per hour cash to start, paid weekly.T his is a very personal, intimate business, and we are a tight crew, each person has been with me for quite some time, and I am not interested in any fly-by-night applicants, or anyone is not feverishly passionate about dogs. We have a lot of fun, and take pride in what we do. Prefer someone with a college education primarily because your communication and language skills must be on par; this is a service industry, and it's a person to person industry before the dogs even come into play. You will be insured and bonded by me, and will be expected to attend a course for one afternoon in first aid for dogs.

Okay, now I shall commence to cut to the chase, and cut out the namby-pamby "formalism" of a "job post" :-) Must LOVE dogs ! Really, you've just got to be a "dog person", not just "like them", but simply possess a natural, innate bearing. Must have a a strong presence; dogs respond to energy, this job is great for actors and musicians, as I'm looking for individuals who are effusive, affectionate, animated, attuned, firm, playful, rhythmic; someone with flow...all the other stuff : reliable, responsible, honest, disciplined, a multi-tasker is rudimentary to me, goes without saying. Oh ! horribly corny analogy, but accurate; I'm looking for people to join my team who have THE X_FACTOR with pups ! You've got to have "the kind of vibe", described in the characteristics above, that they resonate with.

Prefer those with prior professional dog care experience
Or...Not as good, but still good, that you own a dog...
Or..Not so good...neither :-)
Must have an iphone/smart-phone or the equivalent
Must have a working bike with a lock or a car
Must be willing to undergo a background check
Must be willing and desire to commit to a year ( understandable if you cannot make enough here, and need a second job, that's fine, will work with your schedule, am extremely flexible )
Must be fit, without any physical or psychological impediments or active addictions that could compromise your performance or jeopardize the safety of the pups in our care
It's preferable that you live Brooklyn and as close to our service area as possible ( if you live in Manhattan, must be willing to leave early---can't take a chance on the trains running off schedule

I'm really looking for warm, gregarious people that are willing to brave all elements, take licks on the face and love it ! Get their hands dirty, are optimistic, flexible and basically sensitive and sensuous human dudes ! And Dudettes !
