for a paid-internship for highly-motivated college students as counselors for our established summer program.
Our academic summer camp is held in Purchase on the campus of Manhattanville College,
located just on the outskirts of New York City, and includes students from 5th to 11th grade,
preparing for specific exams. It is specifically designed to not only educate students in academia
but to build groom future leaders with professionalism and a sense of independence.
It welcomes students from around the world who seek to study in the U.S. education system.
Kent Prep, therefore, expects the utmost from its counselors for this camp.
Candidates for this position must also include who their favorite presidential candidate is and explain
why at the end of their introduction letter.
In addition to financial compensation, selected counselors will, in turn, be mentored by seasoned educators
from various disciplines and get their hands involved in nearly every aspect of the camp (no running for coffee).
Candidates should expect to be exposed to students from all over the world from an array of different lifestyles.
Requirements:
- Autonomous -- taking ownership of responsibilities without being told to do so
- Current college student or recent graduate of an accredited college in the U.S.
- Leadership/team-building experience
- Strong sense of responsibility
- Flexibility -- ability to adjust to circumstances
- Friendly and willing to invest sincere time with students
- Active citizen (sports, community service, etc.)
Desirable qualities include:
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Advanced writing skills
- Tech savvy
- Experience in teaching organized sports, dance, drama, music, etc.
- Art/graphic design
- Photography
- Multilingual
The camp will take place in Purchase, NY from July 11 -- Aug 4 (4 week residential camp).
Counselors must live on campus (room and board will be covered).
