Job Description:
Dishup Inc., an online educational services company with headquarters in Denver, Colorado is recruiting experienced Home Cook and Chef Instructors to form a Global Instructor Team for teaching their online Menu and Recipe Plan courses to interested students. Having successfully launched the DishupToday e-Kitchen Learning program, Dishup is looking to build a pool of talented and motivated instructors who can lead an on-line, live cooking classes for up to three students per hour.
Cooking Courses in the DishupToday e-Kitchen program are based on unique and comprehensive recipes and meal plans catering to working professionals, stay at home parents, curious singles, etc from all cultures and countries.
The DishupToday e-Kitchen program uses a web based virtual classroom learning model comprised of group as well as individual instruction on the art and joy of cooking. Teachers chosen for the program can expect to lead virtual class sessions at least 1 time per week for a total of 1 hour per week. Instructors will also be responsible for ensuring a positive and encouraging atmosphere where all participants benefit equally through interacting with the instructor and other students.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Instructors will have the following responsibilities:
- Teaching live, on-line sessions (via webcam, using pre-planned lessons based on a set of recipes, and or menu plans).
- Ongoing support of Student questions and inquiries.
- Student feedback tracking from course website activities.
Qualifications and skills:
Ideal candidates for this position should:
- Be energetic, enthusiastic, and professional
- Be able to work autonomously
- Be able to quickly adapt to class/learner level based on difficulties/progress
- Be willing and able to give regular feedback to regional managers (difficulties and successes) on course structure and content
- Have practical knowledge of and experience with home cooking or culinary arts teaching methods
- Be available to teach flexible hours (i.e., early morning and/or late evenings)
- Have good organizational and time-management skills
- Be able to adapt to changing technology as it relates to teaching
- Feel very comfortable using computers
Computer skills:
- Webcam, headset and mic, using Adobe Connect web conferencing website
Summary:
- Work Schedule: Once a week, live, on-line teaching, correcting, feedback, and evaluations
- Duration: 1 hour
- Class Level: Novice, Intermediate, Advance.
- Age of Learners: 18+ (working age, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 yeas of age)
